This role ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within scope, and in compliance with company and client quality standards. The Site Supervisor will also support fiber network extension projects through field verification of designed prints, ride-outs, and constructability assessments. Fiber Site supervisor Core responsibilities Pre-fiber construction
  • Review fiber construction drawings.
  • Review splice diagrams.
  • Review cable routes.
  • Verify FDH/FDA locations.
  • Confirm tie points.
  • Verify cable sizes and fiber assignments.
  • Coordinate with civil crews to confirm pathways are ready.
Network Expansion & Design Verification Conduct ride-outs to verify designed prints, route feasibility, and field conditions Identify discrepancies between field conditions and engineering/design documents Provide feedback to engineering and project management teams regarding route changes, permitting challenges, and construction impacts Assist with planning and execution of network extensions from existing fiber infrastructure Validate pole lines, conduit routes, access points, and right-of-way conditions prior to construction Support high-level desktop designs with field verification and constructability assessments Technical Supervision Oversee splicing, testing, and activation activities Verify technical work meets performance and loss budget standards Quality Control Monitor workmanship and materials to ensure compliance with company and client standards Identify and correct deficiencies in civil and technical work Project Coordination & Performance Manage and track daily scope of work and productivity Supervise and direct field crews, subcontractors, and contractors Evaluate crew and contractor performance; address issues as needed Monitor material usage and efficiency Conduct and validate site-level stock counts and material reconciliations Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks Reporting & Documentation Submit accurate daily reports (progress, quality, incidents, service disruptions, etc.) Approve and sign off on completed work Maintain tracking sheets, milestone updates, and stock/material logs Ensure project handover and as-built documentation is complete and current Track and report service hits or damage incidents Health & Safety Enforce site safety policies and procedures Conduct risk assessments and safety checks Lead toolbox talks and safety briefings Promote safe work practices and professional conduct Other Duties Perform additional work-related duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of onsite construction or field supervision experience Experience in FTTH or fiber network construction Working knowledge of fiber installation, civils, and technical processes Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) Strong understanding of safety and risk management practices Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Key Competencies Problem-solving and analytical skills Strong coordination and organizational ability Effective communication and interpersonal skills Conflict resolution and decision-making capability Negotiation and stakeholder liaison skills Time management and accountability Team leadership and collaboration Familiarity with modern FTTH deployment methods Understanding of scalable fiber network expansion and future-ready infrastructure design Work Environment & Physical Requirements Combination of office and active field/site responsibilities Standing, walking, and working at construction/project sites Ability to lift or move equipment/materials as needed (up to 75 lbs) Exposure to outdoor and construction site conditions Regular travel between job sites required Travel Requirement Valid driver's license and reliable transportation required.
