We are actively seeking an experienced Project Manager of Civil Construction at Synergen Construction. This position is responsible for leading construction projects from estimating and preconstruction through final completion. This role oversees project planning, budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, client communications, and field operations to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and in accordance with company quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following: Estimating & Preconstruction Review drawings, specifications, bid documents, and contract requirements. Prepare project estimates, quantity takeoffs, and bid proposals. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotations. Identify project risks, constructability concerns, and potential cost or schedule impacts. Project Management Manage multiple construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Develop project execution plans, budgets, schedules, and staffing requirements. Monitor project milestones and contractual obligations to ensure timely completion. Conduct regular project meetings with internal teams, subcontractors, and clients. Identify and resolve issues affecting cost, quality, productivity, or schedule. Financial Management Maintain overall responsibility for project profitability and financial performance. Monitor budgets, costs, labor productivity, equipment utilization, and production rates. Prepare project cost forecasts and monthly financial reports. Review and approve vendor invoices, subcontractor pay applications, and owner billings. Manage change orders, claims, and contract modifications. Identify opportunities for cost savings while maintaining quality and schedule requirements. Field Operations Coordinate with Superintendents and field personnel to support efficient project execution. Participate in project planning meetings and weekly production reviews. Ensure crews have the equipment, materials, information, and resources needed to perform work safely and efficiently. Conduct regular jobsite visits to monitor progress, quality, and compliance. Assist with resolving field issues and removing obstacles to production. Client & Stakeholder Relations Serve as a primary point of contact for owners, engineers, inspectors, and subcontractors. Provide regular project updates and lead progress meetings. Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and problem-solving. Resolve project issues professionally and promptly. Procurement & Contract Administration Review and understand the prime contract between Syn-Con and the Owner. Prepare and issue purchase orders and subcontracts for assigned projects. Purchase project materials and equipment and coordinate timely deliveries. Coordinate subcontractor schedules and evaluate subcontractor performance. Ensure project activities and procurement comply with contractual requirements. Scheduling Develop, maintain, and update project schedules. Monitor critical path activities and coordinate manpower, equipment, and materials to meet project milestones. Communicate schedule impacts, delays, and recovery plans to management and clients. Safety & Quality Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance with company safety policies and regulatory requirements. Support project safety meetings, inspections, and corrective actions. Ensure work is performed in accordance with plans, specifications, and company quality standards. Participate in quality control and quality assurance activities. Documentation & Reporting Maintain complete and accurate project documentation and records. Review daily reports, production reports, and other project records. Prepare monthly project status reports for executive management. Maintain records of RFIs, submittals, change orders, permits, correspondence, and other project documentation. Manage project closeout, including warranties, final documentation, and owner acceptance. A qualified applicant must posses the following knowledge, skills, and abilities: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Engineering Technology, or a related field preferred. Five (5) or more years of construction project management experience preferred Strong knowledge of construction contracts, estimating, scheduling, and project financial management Experience with construction technology, including GPS machine control, preferred Valid driver's license. Strong leadership, decision-making, and project management skills. Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. Ability to interpret construction plans, specifications, contracts, and project schedules. Strong financial management, budgeting, and forecasting skills. Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities. Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel. Ability to understand and manage critical path schedules. High attention to detail and a commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.
