Job Description

Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to lead on-site construction activities, ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, and within budget, and to coordinate labor, subcontractors, and MEP trades. The Superintendent will serve as the day-to-day site leader, enforcing quality standards, managing project logistics, and collaborating with project management to deliver successful outcomes on commercial and industrial projects.
Key ResponsibilitiesOversee daily on-site operations, ensuring work is performed safely, to specification, and on schedule.
Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, tradespeople, and MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) crews to maintain workflow and resolve conflicts.
Implement and enforce site safety programs, conduct regular safety meetings, and ensure compliance with OSHA and company safety standards.
Manage project schedules, track progress against milestones, and communicate updates to Project Managers and stakeholders.
Monitor quality control, perform inspections, and address deficiencies promptly to ensure work meets contract documents and industry standards.
Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, RFIs, change orders, and as-built documentation.
Coordinate delivery and storage of materials and equipment; manage site logistics and staging areas to optimize productivity.
Facilitate communication between owners, engineers, inspectors, and the project team to resolve issues and keep the project moving forward.
Assist in reviewing submittals, shop drawings, and coordination drawings, particularly for MEP systems.
Mentor and lead on-site crews, promote a collaborative culture, and support workforce development and training initiatives.
Qualifications5+ years of experience as a Superintendent or similar on commercial/industrial construction projects; demonstrated success leading multi-trade sites.
Proven experience coordinating MEP scopes (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) or work closely with MEP teams; ability to read and interpret MEP drawings and schedules.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, scheduling, quality control, and OSHA safety regulations.
Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate diverse teams and maintain positive subcontractor relationships.
Proficient with construction documentation and project management tools (daily reports, RFIs, submittals, scheduling software).Valid drivers license; OSHA 30-hour or equivalent safety training preferred; trade certifications or union experience a plus.
Ability to work in variable field conditions, adapt to changing priorities, and travel between job sites as required.
