Job Description

James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn seeks two Afterschool Site Coordinators in its licensed childcare program Project Learn. These positions are available at the Hurld-Wyman Elementary School and Linscott-Rumford sites. This applicant should meet requirements as listed and have a passion for working with school-age children as they strive to Be Great.
Responsibilities:
Facilitate daily operation of the site Ongoing communication with the School Age Childcare Director regarding the site, children, families and staff Oversee and ensure that the program is in compliance with all of the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) licensing regulations as well as Project Learns policies and procedures Direct and supervise staff as needed Ability to comfortably communicate with parents including areas of concern (i.e. injuries and behavior incidents) Maintain teacher-child ratios and child safety at all times Implement proper behavior management techniques Develop and implement a well-balanced curriculum of specific, planned learning experiences that support the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and language development of all children with staff Assist in the completion of annual progress reports As appropriate, participate in events based within the school and the James L. McKeown Boys & Girls Club of Woburn Provide students with homework assistance & academic support Participate in at least twelve (12) hours of professional development per year Perform other duties as required by
Director Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit (at times on the floor with children) and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust.
Required Qualifications:
Must meet Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC) Site Coordinator qualifications at the time of hire. Must be at least 20 years of age. Must be eligible to pass CORI, SORI, fingerprinting, and all EEC background check requirements. Current First Aid/CPR certification (or ability to obtain upon hire). Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience working with school-age children required.
