Job Description
Insurance Restoration Project Manager Job Description Position Summary The Insurance Restoration Project Manager is responsible for managing property restoration projects related to insurance claims (water, fire, storm, and mold). This role oversees the entire lifecycle of a project—from initial loss assessment through reconstruction—while coordinating with homeowners, insurance adjusters, and internal teams to ensure timely, profitable, and high-quality project completion. Key Responsibilities Project Management Manage multiple restoration projects from mitigation through reconstruction Conduct site inspections and determine scope of work Develop project timelines, budgets, and schedules Coordinate mitigation, demolition, and reconstruction phases Ensure projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget Insurance & Estimating Prepare detailed estimates using Xactimate or similar software Review insurance scopes and negotiate supplements with adjusters Ensure all work aligns with insurance approvals and guidelines Track job costs, margins, and billing accuracy Client & Adjuster Communication Serve as primary point of contact for homeowners, property managers, and insurance adjusters Provide consistent updates on project status and timelines Manage expectations and resolve issues professionally Field Coordination Work closely with Crew Chiefs, Technicians, and subcontractors Schedule labor, materials, and equipment Monitor job progress and quality control in the field Conduct regular site visits and inspections Documentation & Compliance Maintain complete job files (photos, notes, moisture logs, invoices) Ensure compliance with Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Restoration Certification standards (S500, S520 where applicable) Follow OSHA safety requirements and company policies Ensure proper permitting and code compliance for reconstruction Financial Management Manage project budgets and ensure profitability Approve invoices and track job costs Assist with collections and insurance payments when needed Identify and capture all supplemental revenue opportunities Qualifications Required 3-5+ years of experience in restoration, construction, or insurance claims Strong knowledge of water, fire, and storm damage restoration processes Experience with Xactimate (or similar estimating platforms) Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Valid driver's license with clean driving record Preferred IICRC Certifications (WRT, ASD, FSRT, AMRT) Experience working directly with insurance carriers and adjusters Construction or general contracting background Leadership or project management experience Skills & Competencies Strong negotiation and estimating skills Excellent communication and customer service Leadership and team coordination Problem-solving and decision-making Time management and organization Financial and cost control awareness Physical Requirements Ability to walk job sites, including damaged structures Occasional lifting (25-50 lbs) Exposure to construction and mitigation environments Compensation & Benefits (Customize as Needed) Base salary + performance bonuses (project profitability, revenue targets) Company vehicle or vehicle allowance Paid time off and holidays Career advancement opportunities Work Schedule Full-time On-call availability for emergency losses (as needed) Why This Role Matters The Insurance Restoration Project Manager is critical to the company's success—balancing customer satisfaction, insurance compliance, and profitability while guiding projects from initial loss through full restoration.
Pay:
