PRA is seeking to hire cost managers on a full-time basis for our growing New York City office. We are looking for bright, ambitious, self-starters who share our beliefs in the importance of professional growth and talent development. Ideal candidates are individuals with estimating and cost management experience in the New York City construction industry who are interested in pursuing careers as cost managers. We are looking for candidates that have construction-based knowledge who can add measurable value to the project delivery process in an environment rich with intellectual stimulation and loyalty towards clients. Candidates should have the following attributes: Good understanding of Construction Project Cost, Estimating, and Cost Management Processes Proficiency in utilizing software, especially MS Excel and estimating applications Ability to understand and communicate information contained in design documents, conceptual sketches, bases of design, etc. Ability to review change orders and provide concise analysis on the validity of the change Have a background in interior or core and shell construction Have a background estimating MEPS/T infrastructure Understand the industry supply chain down to the subcontractor level Able to recognize and adapt to change Able to understand the "big picture" by seeing the Client's view Be an effective leader, communicator, and manage situations under pressure while dealing with multiple issues at the same time Roles and Responsibilities The candidate will be working as a member of the PRA team as an Estimator or Cost Manager providing construction estimating and cost analysis throughout the project delivery process. The candidate will be responsible for the following items: Deliver estimates based on feasibility, conceptual, schematic, and construction documents Develop contractor and other consultants' RFP's Review contractors' proposals and make final recommendations Support the construction activities by providing cost control, schedule monitoring and attending weekly project meetings Provide cost benchmarking and cost analysis Provide project costs management for all soft and hard costs. Track all budgeted, committed and anticipated final costs from inception to close-out Prepare risk- based project progress reports and be able to concisely present to client Help to improve processes referring to best practices and adapting to emerging trends and clients changing business environment Minimum Requirements Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture.
- $150,000 based on the applicant's level.
