Job Description
Role Overview A well-established general contractor is seeking a DOB Licensed Superintendent for a major $100m+ affordable-housing project in Poughkeepsie, NY. This is a hands-on site leadership role, responsible for safety, subcontractor coordination, quality, scheduling and overall project delivery. The business is active across affordable housing, multifamily, commercial and public-sector construction. Key Responsibilities Lead day-to-day field operations and coordinate subcontractors. Maintain safe, high-quality work in line with the approved programme. Review contract documents and identify potential site issues early. Develop and communicate work plans, field changes and contingency plans. Obtain or verify construction permits where required. Act as the primary field safety representative. Lead contractor and subcontractor meetings. Create, manage and update project schedules. Coordinate jobsite logistics, deliveries and trade sequencing. Oversee quality-control procedures and resolve site issues. Build strong working relationships with clients, architects, subcontractors and unions. Resolve jurisdictional disputes professionally. Requirements Active NYC DOB Superintendent license is essential. Minimum 10 years' experience as a Construction Superintendent. Experience delivering commercial or residential projects valued at $15 million or above. Strong knowledge of safety, site logistics, scheduling and subcontractor coordination. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider project team. Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Engineering or Construction Management degree preferred. Procore and AutoCAD experience preferred. Compensation & Benefits $120,000 base salary plus package.
