Residential Selections & Design Coordinator Bon Ton Builders, Inc. - Hanover, PA Full-Time | Pay Based on Experience Bon Ton Builders is seeking a Residential Selections & Design Coordinator to work directly with our new-home customers through the design and selection process. This position is responsible for helping homeowners make and document the selections for their new home, while ensuring those selections are complete, accurate, within the scope of the construction contract, and clearly communicated to our estimating, ordering and production teams. This is not strictly an interior-design position. The ideal candidate will combine customer service, organization, residential construction knowledge and an eye for design . You must be comfortable working with homeowners while also understanding that selections need to translate into information that can actually be ordered and built in the field. Primary Responsibilities Conduct homeowner color and selection appointments. Guide customers through exterior and interior selections, including siding, roofing, stone, doors, windows, cabinetry, countertops, flooring, tile, plumbing fixtures, lighting, hardware, paint and related finishes. Prepare and maintain detailed color sheets and selection documents for each home. Review construction plans and contracts prior to selection meetings. Understand what is included in the customer's contract and identify requested items that may require additional pricing or a change order. Coordinate with estimating and ordering personnel to obtain pricing and product information. Clearly document customer selections, revisions and approvals. Communicate changes to the production team before construction reaches the affected stage. Work with suppliers and subcontractors to verify product availability, specifications and lead times. Help prevent field delays by ensuring selections are finalized before materials need to be ordered or installed. Maintain organized records of homeowner communications, selections and revisions. Assist customers with design decisions while keeping selections practical, buildable and within budget. Identify conflicts between plans, contracts and customer selections and bring them to management for resolution. Maintain professional communication with customers throughout the selection process. Qualifications Residential construction experience is strongly preferred. Experience in new-home selections, interior design, kitchen and bath design, construction estimating, cabinetry, building-material sales or residential project coordination would all translate well to this position. The successful candidate should have excellent organizational and communication skills, strong attention to detail, the ability to read residential construction plans, and confidence working directly with homeowners. Basic computer skills are required, including email, spreadsheets and document preparation. Experience with construction management or design software is a plus. Most importantly, this position requires someone who can manage many details across multiple homes without allowing selections, changes or customer requests to fall through the cracks. Compensation & Benefits Pay is based on experience and qualifications. We are open to candidates from different backgrounds and will consider compensation based on the applicant's residential construction knowledge, design/selections experience, customer-service experience and ability to independently manage the position. Benefits and additional employment details will be discussed during the interview process. Schedule Full-time position based out of our Hanover, Pennsylvania office. The position will primarily be office and customer-appointment based, with occasional visits to suppliers, showrooms or active jobsites as needed.
