Job Description
Residential Construction Manager / Future Builder Partner Ready for more independence and control over the projects you build? We are looking for an experienced Residential Construction Manager, Project Manager, or Superintendent interested in taking on independent, project-based construction work. This could be a good fit for someone currently working for a larger homebuilder who has thought about eventually working for themselves but would prefer to start with individual projects rather than making that jump all at once. Already have a full-time position? No problem. We are open to working with someone who wants to start with projects alongside their current job, provided you have the availability to properly manage the projects you accept and your current employment allows it. This is independent contract work paid by the project—not a salaried or hourly position. We have immediate residential projects in the Cedar Park/Lago Vista area and are looking for someone who can take ownership of field operations and drive projects through completion. For the right person, this can grow into larger projects and potentially complete custom-home construction opportunities. What You'll Do Manage residential construction projects in the field Coordinate subcontractors, vendors, deliveries, and inspections Maintain schedules and keep projects moving Review plans, specifications, and scopes before work begins Confirm scopes, decisions, and important changes in writing Serve as the primary point of contact for field-related communication Keep subcontractors, homeowners, and other project stakeholders informed Clearly communicate project status, inspection readiness, problems, and next steps Identify problems early and take ownership of getting them resolved Monitor workmanship and ensure work conforms to plans and specifications Drive projects through completion What We're Looking For Current or recent experience as a Construction Manager, Project Manager, Superintendent, or similar role with a residential homebuilder Strong residential construction knowledge from start through completion Experience managing subcontractors, schedules, inspections, and quality Ability to read and understand residential construction plans and specifications Excellent written and verbal communication Responsive and comfortable documenting important information in writing Organized, dependable, and capable of making good field decisions Takes ownership and follows through without constant supervision Maintains high standards for quality while keeping projects moving Compensation This is independent contract work paid on a per-project basis—not hourly or salary. Each project has an agreed fee based on its scope and level of responsibility, with progress payments tied to defined construction milestones.
