GK & Associates is seeking experienced Construction Inspectors to support upcoming water, wastewater, recycled water, and public works projects throughout Southern California. We are particularly seeking inspectors with municipal water district experience who are comfortable working independently in the field and using iPads/tablets for electronic inspection documentation .
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Inspect water, recycled water, sewer, and public works construction. Inspect pipelines, trenching, backfill, compaction, valves, hydrants, services, manholes, and other utility appurtenances. Inspect pump stations, lift stations, reservoirs, wet wells, and related facilities. Review plans, specifications, submittals, permits, and geotechnical requirements for compliance. Monitor construction quality, traffic control, and site safety. Prepare daily inspection reports, photographs, time entries, and electronic/redline documentation . Communicate effectively with contractors, engineers, agency staff, and the public.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
5+ years of construction inspection experience , preferably with a municipal water district, water utility, or public agency. Strong experience with water/wastewater infrastructure and underground utilities . Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications. Knowledge of Greenbook, Caltrans standards, CA MUTCD, OSHA/Cal-OSHA, and applicable agency standards . Strong iPad/tablet and computer skills. Experience with electronic inspection/reporting systems is highly desirable. Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel. Valid California Driver's License, reliable vehicle, and ability to work in the field.
HIGHLY DESIRED
Experience with water mains, sewer systems, pump stations, reservoirs, lift stations, treatment facilities, and mechanical/electrical systems . Relevant ICC certifications are a plus.
IMPORTANT
Inspectors must be comfortable using an iPad/tablet in the field every day to access plans and specifications, complete electronic daily reports, upload photographs, record time, and maintain project documentation. Typical hours are Monday-Friday, approximately 7:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m. , with occasional evening, overnight, or weekend work as project needs require.
Pay:
$67.00 - $85.00 per hour Expected hours: 40.0 per week
