Job Description

- Per Diem Offered Montville, Connecticut
- Posted on August 20, 2026 Published By Jillian Amerine Trillium Construction is seeking an experienced, Connecticut-licensed Crane Operator for a long-term industrial construction project in Montville, Connecticut.
- $42/hour
- $130/day per diem for qualified travelers
- Per diem is paid for each day worked, including 7 days per week when the full schedule is worked
- Travel pay in and out available for qualifying employees based on distance from home to the jobsite
- Long-term project expected to continue through November Schedule
- The project will begin with a schedule of 5 days per week at 10 hours per day (5/10s).
- Beginning October 26, the schedule will transition to 7 days per week at 12 hours per day (7/12s).
- Candidates must be comfortable with the increased schedule and committed to remaining on the project. Job Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Grove 25-ton Carry Deck crane
- Hang and set piping
- Move and place pipe, small structural steel, racks, and other construction materials
- Assist with material handling and positioning of mechanical components
- Follow load charts, lift requirements, rigging procedures, and all jobsite safety requirements
- Perform routine crane inspections and safely operate equipment
- Assist millwrights and other field crews when crane operations are not required

- Minimum 5 years of crane operating experience
- Current NCCCO Hydraulic Crane Certification for cranes in the 5-30 ton range
- Current Connecticut Hoisting Equipment License
- Previous experience operating hydraulic and carry deck cranes
- Experience operating a 25-ton-class crane, preferably Grove
- Experience safely handling pipe, small structural steel, racks, and other construction materials
- Willingness to perform millwright and general field work when the crane is not operating
- Strong commitment to safety and dependable attendance
- Must be at least 18 years of age
