•45.00 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications Hambleton Crane is seeking an experienced Mobile Crane Operator to operate our Grove TMS500E 50-ton truck crane . We are looking for a dependable operator who can safely set up and operate the crane on structural steel, commercial construction, industrial, and miscellaneous lifting projects throughout Hampton Roads and surrounding areas. The ideal candidate will be comfortable working independently, properly setting up the crane, reading load charts, coordinating with riggers and field crews, and maintaining safe lifting operations throughout the job. Responsibilities Safely operate a Grove TMS500E 50-ton hydraulic truck crane. Drive the crane to and from project sites. Perform daily pre-operation and post-operation inspections. Properly position and set up the crane, including outriggers, cribbing, and blocking. Determine allowable crane capacity based on boom length, radius, configuration, and load chart. Verify load weights and lifting requirements before making picks. Coordinate lifts with riggers, signal persons, foremen, and other field personnel. Perform structural steel erection and other commercial and industrial lifting. Inspect wire rope, hooks, blocks, rigging equipment, and crane components. Maintain daily crane inspection and operating records. Identify unsafe conditions and stop work when necessary. Assist with basic crane maintenance, lubrication, cleaning, and upkeep. Maintain a clean and professional appearance of the crane and equipment. Follow OSHA requirements, company safety policies, and manufacturer operating procedures. Travel to jobs throughout Hampton Roads and surrounding areas as required. Work overtime, nights, or weekends when project schedules require it. Qualifications Previous experience operating hydraulic mobile cranes. Experience operating truck cranes similar to the Grove TMS500E strongly preferred. Current NCCCO Mobile Crane Operator certification preferred. Class A CDL strongly preferred. Must understand crane load charts, radius, boom configuration, deductions, and capacity limitations. Strong knowledge of crane setup and outrigger requirements. Knowledge of rigging practices, hand signals, and safe lifting procedures. Must be able to perform daily crane inspections and recognize mechanical or safety concerns. Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Must be dependable and able to report to work on time. Must be able to work safely around structural steel erection and active construction sites. Preferred Experience Experience with any of the following is a plus: Structural steel erection Steel fabrication and construction Rigging Multiple-crane or critical lifts RTUs and rooftop equipment Industrial and shipyard work Machinery setting Precast or concrete erection Man baskets/personnel platforms Crane maintenance and troubleshooting What We Are Looking For We are looking for an operator who can be trusted to take responsibility for the crane and the lift. This position requires someone who understands that safe setup and sound judgment are more important than rushing a pick. The right candidate should be capable of arriving at a project, evaluating the setup area, properly positioning the crane, reviewing the lift requirements, coordinating with the crew, and safely completing the work with limited supervision. Compensation $30.00

•45.00 per hour , depending on experience, certifications, CDL status, and ability to independently manage crane operations. Overtime opportunities are available based on workload and project schedules. Experience operating Grove truck cranes and a current NCCCO certification will receive preference
