This energetic position requires a motivated individual who thrives in construction environments, ensuring precise operation and accurate HDD locating to facilitate seamless infrastructure development. Your expertise will help drive projects forward safely, efficiently, and with a focus on quality and safety compliance. Duties Operate horizontal directional drilling equipment to install underground utilities with precision and safety. Guide the drilling operations to avoid strikes of existing underground utilities utilizing specialized HDD locating equipment . Conduct utility locating to identify existing underground infrastructure before drilling begins. Maintain detailed records of drilling operations, utility locations, and project progress for accurate documentation. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on construction machinery including drill rigs, locators, excavators, loaders, hydro vacs and other equipment to ensure optimal performance. Follow all federal construction safety regulations, equipment safety procedures, and site-specific safety protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Assist in excavation and construction work as needed to prepare and restore sites before and after drilling operations. Operate commercial trucks for transportation of equipment, materials, or personnel to various job sites. Requirements Proven experience operating heavy construction machinery such as horizontal directional drills. Strong knowledge of utility construction, excavation techniques, and construction site safety regulations. Ability to perform HDD locating with precision using electronic locating devices and other tools. Valid commercial driver's license with experience in commercial truck driving preferred. Mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting minor mechanical issues. Construction experience with emphasis on directional drilling or utility installation projects is highly desirable. Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations and adherence to all safety procedures on-site.
