Underground Fiber Foreman (HDD / Directional Drill)

Underground Contractors, Inc. (UCI) is hiring an Underground Fiber Foreman in the Northwood/Toledo, Ohio area. This role leads underground utility construction crews, including horizontal directional drilling (HDD) and underground fiber optic installation. If you have experience in underground telecom, utility construction, directional drilling, and crew leadership , this is a great opportunity to grow with a stable and expanding company. Responsibilities Lead underground fiber construction crews Oversee HDD / directional drill operations Support installation of underground fiber conduit and utilities Verify utility locates and maintain safe excavation practices Coordinate labor, materials, and equipment Keep crews on schedule and maintain production Enforce safety standards and PPE compliance Complete daily job reporting and communicate with management Requirements Experience in underground utility or fiber optic construction Previous leadership experience as a Foreman or Lead preferred Knowledge of directional drilling equipment (Vermeer, Ditch Witch, etc.) Ability to work outdoors, lift 50+ lbs, and manage a fast-paced crew Willingness to work overtime and occasional overnight travel Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills Preferred CDL-A License Experience with locating, trenching, conduit installation, and restoration Experience leading telecom or utility crews Benefits 401(k) Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance
