Position Summary The Drywall Finisher is responsible for preparing drywall surfaces for final finishes by taping joints, applying compounds, sanding, repairing imperfections, and producing smooth, paint-ready surfaces on commercial construction projects. Successful candidates demonstrate craftsmanship, attention to detail, and the ability to consistently deliver quality work while maintaining productivity and safety standards. Essential Responsibilities Tape and finish drywall joints to achieve a smooth, paint-ready surface. Apply joint compound using appropriate finishing techniques and tools. Spot and finish fasteners, seams, inside and outside corners, and corner bead. Install and finish corner bead as required. Complete fire taping in accordance with project specifications. Perform patches, repairs, tear-aways, and touch-up work. Sand finished surfaces while maintaining quality standards. Mix, transport, and maintain drywall finishing materials. Safely work from stilts, ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts when required. Maintain clean work areas and properly protect surrounding finished surfaces. Coordinate with supervisors and other trades to meet project schedules. Follow all company safety policies and OSHA requirements. Qualifications 1-3 years of commercial drywall finishing experience required. Experience with taping, finishing, sanding, patchwork, and texture repairs. Experience using banjos, finishing boxes, automatic taping tools, and other finishing equipment preferred. Ability to safely work on stilts and scaffolding. Ability to read a tape measure and perform basic construction mathematics. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality finishes. Ability to lift and carry drywall finishing materials and perform physically demanding work throughout the day. Reliable transportation and consistent attendance.
