Job Description

Under the general direction of a journey level crafts worker perform routine and semi-skilled maintenance, alterations and repair of campus equipment and/or assist journeyperson with installation and preventive maintenance of HVAC equipment, compressors and auxiliary equipment used in the manufacture and distribution of steam, chilled water, compressed air and distilled water. Assist in the repair of steam lines and vacuum pumps. Operate tools and equipment related to the HVAC trade. Operate and maintain a variety of power and hand tools, transport materials, clean job sites, and observe good safety practices. Maintain logs of completed task. Salary & Compensation

Qualifications Trade Appropriate Work Hours 2000 trade-appropriate documented work experience hours (Preferred) Working knowledge of general HVAC trade practices and procedures. (Required) Ability to perform routine and semi-skilled tasks assisting Service Engineers or SOE's. (Required) Ability to make minor repairs/installations, or perform preventive maintenance on a variety of University equipment/systems. (Required) Working knowledge of various hand tools, power equipment and supplies of the HVAC trade. (Required) Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations. (Required) Skill in working independently or as part of a work crew follow through on assignments with minimal direction. (Required) Ability to work effectively and productively as part of a team. (Required) Ability to observe all safety practices. (Required) Ability to keep accurate records of work and completed jobs. (Required) Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations Other Type of Degree Some Schooling Trade related 6-18 CEU's (Preferred) Must possess, upon hire, and maintain a valid CA noncommercial Class C License in accordance with the California (CA) Department of Motor Vehicles.
