The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in both commercial and residential electrical work, with extensive experience in construction environments. This role requires proficiency in reading blueprints and schematics, as well as hands-on experience with various electrical systems, including low and high voltage applications. The Journeyperson Electrician will be responsible for ensuring that all electrical installations and repairs meet industry standards and comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC). We value professionals who are self-driven, take pride in their craftsmanship, and are committed to working collaboratively with the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) to ensure that every project meets local codes, inspection requirements, and the highest quality standards. Responsibilities Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems in commercial and residential settings. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to determine the layout of wiring systems. Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete electrical tasks. Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing equipment such as ohmmeters and multimeters. Conduct renovations involving electrical work while adhering to safety protocols. Collaborate with other trades on construction sites to ensure project timelines are met. Coordinate with inspectors and the AHJ to ensure compliance with local regulations. Ensure compliance with NEC standards during all installations and repairs. Maintain a clean and organized work environment on job sites. Requirements Proven experience as an electrician in both commercial and residential settings. Strong knowledge of electrical systems, including low voltage and high voltage applications. Proficient in reading blueprints, schematics, and technical documents. Experience using hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment such as ohmmeters. Construction site experience is essential; maintenance person experience is a plus. Ability to perform frame carpentry tasks may be beneficial for certain projects. Self-driven, motivated, and able to take initiative while working independently. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety practices on the job site.
