Builder. Fixer. Tinkerer. Craftsperson. HomeIQ Technologies is looking for a hands-on field technician for commercial and high-end residential technology projects. This could be a great fit if you work in the trades but think like a maker or engineer. You enjoy understanding how things work, solving unusual problems, and building things properly. We are not just looking for someone who can make a system work. We want someone who cares about the craft: straight wire paths, clean bends, precise measurements, level equipment, consistent spacing, and an installation that looks intentional—even where the client may never see it. You do not need to be a programmer or network engineer. Mechanical ability, curiosity, craftsmanship, and good judgment matter more. What You'll Do Install, mount, wire, and test technology systems Route and terminate low-voltage cabling Install equipment racks, displays, cameras, speakers, network equipment, and controls Troubleshoot equipment, wiring, and unexpected jobsite conditions Read plans and follow system documentation Coordinate professionally with clients, builders, and other trades Complete service calls, punch-list work, and finish details The work is varied. One day may involve building an equipment rack; another may involve mounting a camera, troubleshooting a network connection, modifying a bracket, or figuring out how to install something cleanly in a difficult space. You May Be a Good Fit If You Enjoy building, repairing, modifying, or figuring things out Notice when something is crooked, poorly routed, unevenly spaced, or unfinished Take pride in precise, organized work Are mechanically inclined and confident with tools Learn unfamiliar technology quickly Can solve problems without creating improvised-looking results Work well independently and take ownership of your assignments Know when to keep troubleshooting and when to ask a good question Are reliable, punctual, organized, and professional Helpful Background Experience with any of the following is useful, but not required: Low-voltage wiring or electrical work AV, networking, cameras, lighting, or smart-home systems Finish carpentry, fabrication, automotive electronics, or general construction Equipment racks and structured wiring Commercial tenant improvements or custom residential projects CAD, electronics, 3D printing, microcontrollers, or maker projects Formal degrees and certifications are welcome but not required. We care more about demonstrated ability, curiosity, reliability, and craftsmanship. Physical and Jobsite Requirements This is an active field position.

You must be comfortable:

Working in attics, crawl spaces, equipment rooms, and confined areas Working around heat, dust, insulation, dirt, and insects Using ladders and working overhead Lifting and positioning tools, cable, and equipment A clean driving record and the ability to pass a background check and drug screening are required.
