Entry-Level Generator Maintenance TechnicianJob Summary We are seeking a motivated and bilingual Entry-Level Generator Maintenance Technician to join our team. Our primary need is for someone with strong basic mechanical skills who can perform routine generator maintenance, including oil changes, filter replacements, fluid checks, battery replacements, and general equipment inspections. You do not need to be an experienced generator technician or electrician. We are looking for someone dependable, mechanically inclined, and willing to learn. We will provide paid, hands-on training to teach you generator systems, electrical troubleshooting, transfer switches, controls, and more advanced repairs as you grow with the company. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in oil changes, automotive maintenance, diesel maintenance, fleet service, or general mechanical work who wants to build a long-term career in the commercial generator industry. Responsibilities Perform routine preventive maintenance on commercial standby generators Perform oil and filter changes on diesel and gas generators Replace fuel filters, air filters, coolant filters, and other maintenance items Check and maintain engine oil, coolant, fuel, and battery systems Replace batteries, belts, hoses, and other basic service components Perform visual inspections and identify leaks, worn components, or other potential problems Keep generator equipment and work areas clean and organized Accurately document maintenance performed, parts used, and equipment conditions Assist experienced generator technicians with troubleshooting and repairs Learn how to safely test and troubleshoot generator electrical systems Learn generator controllers, wiring, automatic transfer switches (ATS), and related electrical equipment Communicate professionally with customers and team members Follow all company and job-site safety procedures Qualifications Bilingual English and Spanish required Experience performing oil changes or general automotive/diesel maintenance is strongly preferred Mechanical aptitude and willingness to work with engines and equipment Comfortable using basic hand and power tools Valid driver's license and reliable transportation Ability to lift and handle filters, batteries, tools, and other service equipment Ability to work outdoors and travel to customer locations throughout the workday Dependable, punctual, organized, and willing to learn Basic electrical knowledge is a plus, but electrical experience is NOT required Generator experience is a plus, but NOT required What We're Looking For We are not expecting you to already know generators or advanced electrical troubleshooting.
