Job Description
A day in this role You start with a quick walk-through of the production floor, checking vibration, heat, and sounds from key assets. Preventive tasks are queued up, so you lubricate bearings, inspect belts, and verify safety interlocks. Mid-morning, a conveyor goes down—you isolate the fault, read the schematic, meter the circuit, swap a failed component, and bring the line back up with minimal downtime. In the afternoon, you install a new regulator on a pneumatic manifold, tune a VFD, and button up a PM on facility systems before documenting your work. Core responsibilities Identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues on production machinery and auxiliary equipment. Disassemble faulty machines, determine root cause of failure, and install repaired or replacement components. Execute scheduled preventive maintenance on equipment, facility systems, and building infrastructure. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and precisely adjust bearings, shafts, gears, and other moving assemblies. Troubleshoot, install, and repair electrical systems, including transformers, machine wiring, controls, and electronic modules. Install and maintain piping, hydraulic circuits, and pneumatic equipment. Replace or repair valves, gauges, pressure regulators, and related instrumentation. Respond rapidly to equipment breakdowns to restore operation and minimize production downtime. Proactively recognize emerging maintenance concerns, communicate them quickly, and take corrective action. Organize assigned work and complete tasks safely and on schedule. What you bring Hands-on knowledge of 24V through 480V electrical systems, including three-phase power. Ability to interpret and work from electrical drawings and schematics. Experience with diagnostic tools such as multimeters and meggers. Comfort using power tools (drills, grinders, reciprocating saws) and a broad range of hand tools. Strong mechanical aptitude and methodical approach to work. Proven troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Capacity to prioritize effectively and respond with urgency during downtime events. Self-starter who takes initiative when issues are identified. Reliable team contributor with clear written and verbal communication. Organized, detail-oriented, and quick to learn new equipment and processes. Positive attitude and eagerness to grow technical knowledge. Willingness to work occasional extended hours and weekends as needed. Valid driver's license. Preferred background Experience troubleshooting PLC-controlled equipment. Background with industrial three-phase electrical systems. MIG or TIG welding capability. Maintenance of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
