Job Description

YOUR EXPERIENCE SHOULD LEAD SOMEWHERE.
Only apply if you have 8 or more years of experience in commercial and residential electrical work. Imagine putting your years of experience toward more than completing the next job. Imagine using what you know to develop people, strengthen a team, and help take an electrical company into new markets. North Louisiana Electrical is looking for an electrician who wants that opportunity. We need someone who takes ownership, gets the complete story, makes decisions, solves problems, and follows through. Someone who wants to pass along what they have learned and understands that teaching others creates more value than doing everything themselves. Do the work. Teach the work. Lead the people. Share in the value you help create. You will receive hourly base pay, but hourly pay is only the beginning. The right person will help us grow profitably and create the ability to pay our people a premium. Our goal is to become the highest-paying electrical contractor in our area. Profit sharing and additional earning opportunities will reward the people who help make that possible. This opportunity begins in the field. You will start with your own service van, work electrical jobs, and occasionally find yourself in an attic, crawlspace, or ditch. Advancement will be earned through what you contribute and what you help others accomplish. Your greatest value here will NOT be measured by what you can accomplish alone. It will be measured by what the team becomes capable of because of you. When the team grows, the company grows. When the company wins profitably, the people who made it possible should be acknowledged, rewarded, and share in the value they created. That is where your experience should lead. If that is the future you have been looking for—even if you never knew how to describe it—we should talk. To be considered for an interview, please answer all questions in the application.
Pay:
$24.00 - $34.54 per hour
Benefits:
Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insurance Application Question(s): You were assigned to replace an outdoor electrical service and main panel. The customer specifically stated that power had to be restored before bedtime. It was considered a standard replacement, but the power was not restored until the following day. Give one reasonable explanation for what may have happened. Then explain what could have been done beforehand to prevent it.
  • You are the lead electrician on a four-person crew. A helper makes a mistake that will delay completion of the job. After speaking with the helper, you realize they were doing what they honestly believed you had instructed them to do. How would you handle the immediate situation? Who is accountable for the outcome? What could have prevented the mistake?
  • The office asks when you expect to be finished so it can schedule your next service call.
You say approximately 30 minutes. Based on that information, the office schedules the next customer for one hour later. Two hours pass, and the next customer calls the office asking where you are. When the office contacts you, you are still cleaning up and preparing to leave the original job. What failed in this situation? Who owns the outcome? How should it have been handled differently?
  • You were the lead electrician on a job completed earlier that day. After you have gone home, the customer calls to report that something you worked on is not operating correctly. After thinking through the work, you realize your helper completed that particular part of the job. What goes through your mind after that realization? What happens next?
  • You replace a light fixture in a customer's home, test it, and everything works properly. While cleaning up, you accidentally knock one of the customer's drinking glasses onto the floor and it breaks. The customer is in another room and does not know what happened. Describe the rest of the scenario from the moment the glass breaks until the situation is completely resolved.
  • Before answering this final question, read this carefully.
The title is Electrician. That is where this position begins—not necessarily where it ends. You will start with a service van, work with customers, and perform electrical work in the field. This is how you will learn our company, earn the team's trust, and demonstrate the standards you expect others to follow. The right person can grow into a key leader—developing people, strengthening accountability, improving operations, and preparing NLE to enter new markets. As that leadership creates profitable growth, you will have the opportunity to share in the value created. Now place yourself inside that responsibility. What questions do you have for us? Please include 3 questions that will help us understand what you are looking for in this opportunity.
