The customer specifically stated that power had to be restored before bedtime. It was considered a standard replacement, but the power was not restored until the following day. Give one reasonable explanation for what may have happened. Then explain what could have been done beforehand to prevent it.

• You are the lead electrician on a four-person crew. A helper makes a mistake that will delay completion of the job. After speaking with the helper, you realize they were doing what they honestly believed you had instructed them to do. How would you handle the immediate situation? Who is accountable for the outcome? What could have prevented the mistake?
• The office asks when you expect to be finished so it can schedule your next service call.

You say approximately 30 minutes. Based on that information, the office schedules the next customer for one hour later. Two hours pass, and the next customer calls the office asking where you are. When the office contacts you, you are still cleaning up and preparing to leave the original job. What failed in this situation? Who owns the outcome? How should it have been handled differently?

• You were the lead electrician on a job completed earlier that day. After you have gone home, the customer calls to report that something you worked on is not operating correctly. After thinking through the work, you realize your helper completed that particular part of the job. What goes through your mind after that realization? What happens next?
• You replace a light fixture in a customer's home, test it, and everything works properly. While cleaning up, you accidentally knock one of the customer's drinking glasses onto the floor and it breaks. The customer is in another room and does not know what happened. Describe the rest of the scenario from the moment the glass breaks until the situation is completely resolved.
