Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Journeyman Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in industrial and commercial electrical systems, with a strong understanding of NEC standards, blueprint reading, and schematics. This role involves installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems on construction sites and renovation projects, ensuring safety and compliance with all relevant codes. The Journeyman Electrician will work on various projects that require expertise in low and high voltage systems, programmable logic controllers, and the use of hand and power tools. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical wiring, systems, and equipment in accordance with blueprints, schematics, and NEC standards. Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to plan electrical layouts for construction or renovation projects. Use hand tools, power tools, ohmmeters, and other testing devices to diagnose electrical issues effectively. Install programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation processes in industrial settings. Conduct routine inspections to ensure electrical systems meet safety standards and operate efficiently. Collaborate with construction teams to coordinate electrical work within project timelines. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for compliance and future reference. Ensure all work complies with local building codes, NEC regulations, and safety standards. Experience Proven experience as an electrician with a valid journeyman license. Extensive knowledge of electrical systems including low voltage, high voltage, and automation controls such as PLCs. Hands-on experience with blueprint reading, schematics interpretation, and troubleshooting electrical issues using tools like ohmmeters. Construction site experience preferred, including renovation projects involving framing carpentry or handyman skills. Familiarity with NEC standards and safety regulations related to electrical installations. Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively in a fast-paced environment. Experience working on construction sites or renovation projects that require adherence to strict safety protocols.
