$21.00 Employees being promoted to a higher classified position receive the minimum for the position or a pay rate adjustment of 8% whichever is greater. All regular positions also entitle the employee to several benefits including health, dental, vision, life insurance, and retirement which is largely paid by New Mexico Tech for the employee and dependents.

JOB SUMMARY:
Troubleshoots and repairs electrical controls. Does Electrical Preventive Maintenance around campus. Checks the safety/emergency lights around campus.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Dismantles electrical machinery and replaces defective electrical or mechanical parts such as brushes and armatures. Maintains various types of motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers Monitors the performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement Handles all Electrical Preventative Maintenance around the campus. Mounts motors, transformers, and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specs. Repairs, installs, replaces, and tests electrical circuits and equipment. Troubleshoots and repairs electric controls, motor control centers, and programmable logic controls. Other Duties as Assigned (Including Snow Removal) May be required to respond to emergencies
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School (or GED) level ability in spelling, grammar, composition and math. Ability to isolate defects in wiring, switches, motors, and other electrical equipment. Ability to install and maintain motors, lighting fixtures, generators, circuit breakers, and transformers. Knowledge of electrical systems including planning additions or mods. Ability to carry out PM duties. Ability to read blueprints and sketches. Ability to diagnose and repair electrical controls and industrial motor control centers.
