Electrical Maintenance Technician Location:
Bedford Heights, OH Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 2:45 PM - 10:45
PM Pay:
$28-35/hour
Overtime:
Overtime is not guaranteed, but the facility is busy and overtime may be required About the Opportunity We are looking for an experienced Electrical Maintenance Technician to join our industrial manufacturing team in Bedford Heights. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys troubleshooting problems on the plant floor and keeping production equipment running safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate is electrically strong with industrial maintenance experience — someone who can diagnose electrical issues, troubleshoot controls, read schematics, work with AC/DC systems and PLCs, and wire or repair controls when needed. You do not need to be an electrical engineer. We are looking for someone who knows how to get to the root of an electrical problem, make the repair, and get equipment back into operation. Experience in a large industrial manufacturing environment is strongly preferred, and steel industry experience is especially valuable. What You'll Do Troubleshoot electrical issues on industrial production equipment and machinery Diagnose electrical faults and determine the root cause of equipment problems Install, maintain, repair, and modify electrical systems and equipment Wire and troubleshoot machine controls as needed Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings Work with AC/DC electrical systems Troubleshoot and maintain PLCs and industrial control systems Inspect, test, and troubleshoot production machinery and equipment Perform preventive maintenance to improve equipment reliability and minimize downtime Replace, repair, and install electrical and mechanical components Troubleshoot motors, controls, sensors, switches, and other industrial electrical components Assist with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic repairs as needed Perform lockout/tagout as an authorized associate when completing repairs or maintenance Maintain accurate and safe work practices while following OSHA and company safety requirements Keep the maintenance area and equipment clean, organized, and safe Work collaboratively with production and maintenance teams to resolve equipment issues Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, processes, and efficiency What We're Looking For Previous experience in industrial electrical maintenance Experience troubleshooting electrical problems on manufacturing or production equipment Strong understanding of electrical systems and controls Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and wiring diagrams Experience working with AC/DC systems PLC troubleshooting or maintenance experience Experience using hand tools, power tools, electrical testing equipment, and other maintenance tools Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills are a plus Ability to work independently, diagnose problems, and determine appropriate repairs Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety Ability to communicate effectively with maintenance, production, and management teams Willingness to work overtime when required Ability to frequently lift/move up to 50 pounds and safely climb, bend, walk, and work around industrial equipment Ability to work in hot and cold environments depending on conditions Ability to provide and maintain your own basic tools/toolbox, including wrenches up to 1" Experience That Will Make You Stand Out 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience Electrical troubleshooting in a large manufacturing facility Steel industry experience Experience maintaining lift trucks or material-handling equipment PLC troubleshooting and maintenance Controls wiring and installation Hydraulics and pneumatics Welding and fabrication Experience troubleshooting motors and industrial machinery Experience with flat-rolled steel equipment such as slitters or cut-to-length lines Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and technical drawings Experience with computerized maintenance systems and Microsoft Office Why Join Us?
