Industrial Electrician Job Description The Industrial Electrician installs, maintains, and repairs industrial electrical systems and equipment, ensuring safe, reliable operation of machinery and facility infrastructure. This role focuses on troubleshooting complex electrical issues, supporting automated and PLC-based systems, and adhering to strict safety standards and electrical codes in a modern manufacturing environment. Responsibilities Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues on industrial machinery and facility electrical systems to minimize downtime and maintain safe operations. Conduct regular inspections of electrical systems, components such as transformers and circuit breakers, and wiring to identify potential hazards or wear before failure occurs. Install new machinery, electrical equipment, wiring, conduit, lighting, electrical infrastructure, and control panels according to specifications and applicable codes. Work with PLCs and automated systems, including diagnosing and resolving control and automation-related electrical problems. Handle high-voltage power systems safely and effectively, following established procedures and safety standards. Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings to plan and execute installations, repairs, and modifications. Utilize computerized maintenance management systems (such as Limbal) to document work performed, materials used, and repairs completed in a timely and accurate manner. Assist in the design, support, assembly, and construction of electrical components for prototype and production equipment, including starter panels, joystick boxes, junction boxes, timer boxes, and similar assemblies. Install, bend, and secure conduit, and pull wire for new installations and system upgrades while maintaining neat and organized routing. Adhere strictly to local and national electrical codes as well as internal safety policies and procedures. Perform other related electrical duties as assigned by management to support overall facility and equipment reliability. Essential Skills At least 5 years of electrician experience within an industrial setting. Strong electrical troubleshooting and repair skills for both facilities and industrial machinery. Hands-on experience troubleshooting PLCs and automated systems in a production environment. Proficiency with industrial electrical systems, including high-voltage power distribution and control circuits. Ability to read, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings. Experience installing and working with conduit, including conduit bending and secure routing. Skilled in pulling wire and completing wiring installations for equipment, panels, and facility systems. Knowledge of industrial electrical standards and practices, including
NFPA 70E
principles. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple electrical projects at one time and prioritize tasks effectively. High school diploma or GED required. Ability to work safely at heights as needed for installations and maintenance. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems to document work and materials. Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience working with industrial equipment and heavy manufacturing environments. Exposure to OSHA safety practices; OSHA-30 certification preferred but not required.
NFPA 70E
certification preferred but not required. Comfort working with large construction and mining equipment and associated electrical systems. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and engineering. Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and organized work area. Job Type & Location This is a Permanent position based out of Walton Hills, OH. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $95000.00
- $110000.00/yr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
