Job Description

Willamette Smart Solutions is seeking a dependable, licensed Oregon electrician for immediate project-based contract work. We provide residential and business technology solutions throughout Eugene, Springfield, Corvallis, Albany, Portland, and surrounding areas. This is not a full-time or salaried position. Projects are offered as needed, and compensation is agreed upon before each job based on the electrical scope, estimated labor, travel, permitting requirements, and experience. The displayed $60-$90 rate represents an approximate hourly equivalent. Responsibilities Install smart switches, dimmers, outlets, receptacles, lighting controls, and automated lighting systems Install new outlets and dedicated circuits for televisions, network equipment, security systems, smart-home panels, and other technology Install and connect smart thermostats, bathroom fans, smart mirrors, smart showers, and related equipment Complete electrical work needed for hardwired security cameras, floodlights, video doorbells, and exterior lighting Install electrical service and dedicated circuits for Level 2 EV chargers when properly qualified Add, relocate, replace, and troubleshoot outlets, switches, breakers, circuits, and electrical wiring Evaluate electrical panels, circuit capacity, grounding, and power requirements before installation Diagnose issues such as missing neutral wires, overloaded circuits, inadequate power, improper wiring, and incompatible electrical equipment Coordinate with our low-voltage technicians on smart-home, Wi-Fi, Starlink, security-camera, audio/video, and business technology projects Read plans, product specifications, wiring diagrams, and installation requirements Obtain or assist with permits and inspections when required Ensure all electrical work is completed safely and in compliance with applicable electrical codes and manufacturer requirements Protect the customer's property, maintain a clean work area, and deliver neat, professional installations Communicate any problems, additional materials, change orders, or work outside the approved scope before proceeding Provide photos, documentation, test results, and permit information after completing each project Required Qualifications Active Oregon electrical license appropriate for the work performed Current licensing, registration, insurance, and any other credentials required to legally perform electrical work Proven residential and/or commercial electrical experience Experience installing switches, dimmers, outlets, lighting, circuits, breakers, thermostats, and connected electrical equipment Ability to diagnose electrical problems and recommend safe, code-compliant solutions Familiarity with smart-home technology or willingness to coordinate closely with technology installers Valid driver's license and dependable transportation Must provide your own professional tools, testing equipment, ladder, vehicle, and safety equipment Ability to travel to customer locations throughout the Willamette Valley and occasionally to Portland or surrounding areas Strong communication, attention to detail, and professional customer-service skills Must be dependable, responsive, punctual, and available for projects on short notice Must be able to work independently without constant supervision Preferred Experience Smart-home lighting and automation systems Smart switches, outlets, thermostats, mirrors, fans, and shower systems EV charger installations Electrical work supporting security cameras, networking equipment, Wi-Fi systems, TVs, audio systems, and wall-mounted control panels Residential remodeling, custom homes, and business technology projects Working alongside low-voltage technicians, technology integrators, contractors, and other trades Contract Details Independent, project-based contract work No guaranteed weekly hours Compensation is agreed upon before each project begins Projects are assigned based on location, availability, qualifications, and experience Additional ongoing projects may be available for electricians who consistently provide clean, reliable, professional work Immediate availability is strongly preferred To Apply Please provide: Your current Oregon electrical license type and license number Your location and service area Years of residential and commercial electrical experience Experience with smart-home systems, EV chargers, lighting controls, and connected devices Your availability and earliest possible start date Confirmation that you carry the required insurance and have reliable transportation and tools Photos or examples of previous electrical installations, if available
