Journeyman Electrician -
Lumber Sawmill Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Journeyman Electrician with industrial experience to join our maintenance team at a high-production lumber sawmill. This role is critical to maintaining safe, reliable, and efficient electrical systems supporting sawmill and manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair industrial electrical systems and equipment
  • Diagnose and repair motors, VFDs, PLC-controlled equipment, MCCs, and production machinery
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Work closely with maintenance and production teams to support continuous operations
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, NEC, and company safety standards
  • Participate in shutdowns, upgrades, and capital improvement projects as needed
Qualifications:
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license
  • Industrial electrical experience (sawmill, manufacturing, or heavy industrial preferred)
  • Strong troubleshooting skills in high-voltage and low-voltage systems
  • Experience with motors, controls, PLCs, and industrial automation
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, production environment
  • Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and overtime as required
Preferred Experience:
  • Lumber sawmill or wood products manufacturing experience
  • PLC troubleshooting (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or similar)
  • Experience with conveyors, kilns, debarkers, planers, or similar equipment
