Installs electrical wiring and lighting in new construction, and repairs or upgrade wiring, outlets or other parts of older electrical systems. Checks safety and makes installations or repairs that are in compliance with local building codes. May also specialize in electrical work required in different manufacturing industries, electrical systems for cars, plane or boats, or electrical and lighting work in the film industry.
About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled and licensed Master Electrician who also holds a valid
HVAC/ACR
Contractor License to join our team. This is a unique leadership role that bridges the gap between high-voltage electrical systems and complex climate control infrastructure. In this role, you will not only perform high-level electrical work but will also oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC and Refrigeration systems. You will serve as the technical authority on projects involving large-scale commercial equipment, ensuring that all electrical distribution and mechanical systems operate safely, efficiently, and in full compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local mechanical codes.
Key Responsibilities System Integration:
Oversee the installation and maintenance of HVAC/R equipment, ensuring all electrical connections, power supplies, and control circuits are correctly sized and installed per code.
Licensing Compliance:
Act as the primary qualifying agent for the company's
HVAC/ACR
Contractor license, ensuring all work performed under this license meets state and local regulatory standards.
Electrical Mastery:
Troubleshoot, repair, and install complex electrical systems including 3-phase power, switchgear, motor controls, and VFDs related to commercial HVAC equipment.
Project Management:
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and single-line diagrams to plan electrical and mechanical installations for commercial and industrial projects.
Load Calculations:
Perform electrical load calculations and HVAC load/ Manual J calculations to ensure system compatibility and efficiency.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor a team of electricians and HVAC technicians, providing technical guidance and ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose complex issues involving both electrical failure and mechanical malfunction, providing rapid solutions to minimize downtime for clients.
Code Enforcement:
Conduct rigorous inspections of finished work to verify NEC compliance, local amendments, and manufacturer specifications for HVAC equipment.
Inventory Control:
Manage inventory related to electrical supplies and specialized HVAC components. Qualifications & Requirements Licensing (MANDATORY): Master Electrician License (current and active).
HVAC/ACR
Contractor License (current and active).

Experience:
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in the electrical trade, with at least 5 years of hands-on experience working alongside or within the HVAC industry.
Technical Skills:
Deep understanding of both electrical theory (Ohms law, power factor, grounding) and thermodynamics/refrigeration cycles.
Software:
Proficiency with electrical design software, building management systems (BMS), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and stand for extended periods in varying weather conditions. Preferred Skills Experience with Energy Management Systems (EMS). Knowledge of solar integration and backup generator systems. OSHA 30-Hour Certification or higher. Previous experience in a supervisory or project management capacity.
