We are currently looking for Journeyman electricians. The position is full time Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities.
Responsibilities:
Installation & Assembly:
Install conduit, electrical wiring, switches, control panels, circuit breakers, and power distribution equipment according to blueprints and schematics.
Motor & Control Systems:
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain AC/DC electric motors, variable frequency drives (VFDs), starters, relays, and motor control centers (MCCs).
Maintenance & Repair:
Diagnose faulty systems, components, and equipment using electrical testing instruments (multimeters, megohmmeters, oscilloscopes).
Code Compliance:
Ensure all electrical installations and repairs comply strictly with NEC standards and local building codes.
Safety Leadership:
Practice strict adherence to Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, OSHA regulations, and company safety protocols.
Jobsite Collaboration:
Work alongside field operations manager, apprentices, and client facility managers to execute work efficiently and on schedule. Reliable and punctual.
Qualifications:
Our electricians must possess an electrical license through the State of Utah as a journeyman or is close to obtaining it. Must posses a valid Utah driver's license and have a clean record. Having a current UDOT medical card or MSHA miner's training certificate is a plus, but not required.
Experience:
Minimum 5-10 years of commercial or industrial electrical experience as a journeyman (motor repair or industrial control experience preferred).
Technical Skills:
Proficiency reading electrical schematics, single-line diagrams, and blueprints. Strong working knowledge of AC/DC motors, control circuits, transformers, and 3-phase power systems
Tools and Equipment:
Familiarity with pipe benders, wire pullers, and diagnostic testing tools. Must possess own hand tools for the trade.
Journeyman Leadership:
Ability to teach/mentor apprentices in correct electrical practices per job site Represent Johnson Electric Motor with high ethical standards to support and maintain strong customer relationships. Ability to be resourceful and communicable to all customers and Johnson Electric employees.
