AMPLEX ELECTRIC IS HIRING LEAD THE CREW. OWN THE PROJECT. GROW WITH US.
Lead Electrician / Project Manager — Hillsville, VA
FULL-TIME EXEMPT
Amplex Electric is looking for an experienced electrician who's ready to lead more than the crew. On this job, you'll own the budget, the schedule, and the client relationship on every project you run — while still being the one who walks the site, reads the plans, and solves the problem when something doesn't line up. If you can wire a panel in the morning and walk a client through a change order in the afternoon, we want to talk to you.

▪ Lead and mentor your crew on-site — setting the pace for safety, quality, and productivity every day. ▪ Own each project from turnover to closeout: budgets, schedules, and execution strategy are yours to run. ▪ Read plans and solve problems in the field — you're the one everyone turns to when something doesn't line up. ▪ Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, building relationships that bring repeat business. ▪ Track job costs, price change orders, and protect the bottom line on every project. ▪ Champion a safety-first culture through daily toolbox talks and hands-on coaching.
WHAT YOU BRING
▪ Licensed Journeyman Electrician in Virginia (Master Electrician preferred), or the ability to obtain VA licensure by reciprocity within 30 days of hire. ▪ 5+ years of electrical construction experience, including 2-3 years leading crews or managing projects with budget and schedule accountability. ▪ Strong working knowledge of the NEC, blueprint reading, and field troubleshooting. ▪ Demonstrated financial acumen — job costing, billing, forecasting, and change order management. ▪ Valid driver's license and reliable transportation around Hillsville and Carroll County.
NICE TO HAVE
▪ Master Electrician License (Virginia). ▪ Multi-state reciprocal licensing (North Carolina, Tennessee, West Virginia). ▪ OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification / NFPA 70E Certification. ▪ Estimating and project budgeting experience. ▪ Military electrical, construction, or leadership experience.
