Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Electrical Estimator to join our team and drive the success of our electrical construction projects. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for electrical systems, reviewing construction drawings, and collaborating with clients and project teams to ensure project goals are met efficiently. Your expertise will help us deliver high-quality electrical solutions on time and within budget, fostering strong client relationships and supporting the growth of our company. This position offers an exciting opportunity to apply your technical knowledge and estimating skills in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Responsibilities Review construction drawings, specifications, and electrical blueprints to accurately estimate material quantities, labor costs, and overall project expenses. Develop detailed cost estimates for electrical systems in accordance with NEC (National Electrical Code) standards and NFPA 70 compliance requirements. Utilize estimating software such as Trimble/ Accubic and other industry tools to prepare comprehensive bids that reflect project scope and client expectations. Manage material cost estimating by sourcing prices from vendors, negotiating favorable terms, and ensuring cost control throughout the bidding process. Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to review contracts, scope changes, and pricing adjustments to maintain budget integrity. Conduct construction site visits when necessary to assess conditions that impact cost estimates or project execution. Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, bid proposals, and related correspondence for future reference. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on electrical systems; construction industry experience is essential. Strong knowledge of electrical blueprint reading, schematic interpretation, and electrical building codes. Proficiency with estimating software such as Trimble, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and other relevant tools. Familiarity with NEC standards, NFPA 70 compliance, and electrical code requirements for various types of projects. Ability to review construction drawings thoroughly and identify potential cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety. Excellent negotiation skills for vendor sourcing and client discussions to achieve optimal pricing outcomes. Construction site experience coupled with construction management understanding enhances estimation accuracy. Effective communication skills for client interactions, team collaboration, and presenting detailed estimates clearly.
