In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing blueprints and technical drawings, and collaborating closely with project managers, clients, and suppliers. Your expertise will help ensure projects are financially viable, competitive, and completed on time. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to large-scale construction endeavors while honing your skills in cost management and project estimation. Duties Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to accurately estimate material requirements and labor costs. Develop detailed project estimates using estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools. Analyze project scopes, bid documents, and client specifications to prepare comprehensive cost proposals. Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams to negotiate pricing and secure competitive bids. Manage project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the construction process and implementing effective cost control measures.. Prepare detailed spreadsheets for estimating purposes, including material costs, labor hours, equipment needs, and contingency allowances. Review construction plans regularly to ensure accuracy in estimation and compliance with industry standards. Support project management teams by providing timely cost updates and assisting in managing project schedules and resources. Skills Proven experience in heavy civil or commercial construction estimating with a strong understanding of the entire project lifecycle. Proficiency with , Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and construction management software. Exceptional blueprint reading skills coupled with the ability to interpret technical drawings accurately. Strong negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from vendors and subcontractors while maintaining quality standards. Expertise in cost management techniques including material cost estimating, cost control strategies, and budgeting for large-scale projects. Excellent communication skills for effective client interactions and team collaboration. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail under tight deadlines. Knowledge of construction industry standards, safety protocols, and local building codes is highly desirable. Experience with estimating for various types of commercial projects including retail centers, office buildings, or industrial facilities. Familiarity with construction site operations to better understand on-the-ground challenges that impact estimates.
