Overview of Responsibilities Meet with customers, perform site evaluations, and review project requirements Develop scopes of work for residential and commercial electrical projects Prepare complete labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor estimates Review plans, specifications, field conditions, and customer objectives Build detailed proposals and pricing packages for customer review Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to obtain competitive pricing Work directly with customers, project managers, and field leadership to develop practical, cost-effective solutions Support project handoff and provide estimate clarification during project execution Ensure estimates align with NEC requirements, local codes, and company standards Maintain estimating databases, labor units, and historical pricing information Project Types Projects range from residential service work and panel upgrades to complete home remodels, tenant improvements, commercial renovations, retail build-outs, and ground-up facilities. Successful candidates will be comfortable developing scopes and pricing projects ranging from a few thousand dollars to several million dollars. Many projects involve developing solutions from customer concepts, site walks, and existing field conditions rather than simply estimating from completed plans. Experience 10+ years of electrical industry experience At least 5 years of estimating experience within the electrical industry Proven ability to independently develop complete electrical estimates from concept through proposal Strong understanding of residential and commercial electrical systems Experience with service work, remodels, tenant improvements, retail projects, and small-to-mid-sized commercial projects Working knowledge of NEC requirements and local code compliance Strong understanding of labor productivity, material procurement, and project costing Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines simultaneously Excellent communication and customer relationship skills Required Qualifications Strong Computer Skills Experience with Accubid, McCormick, ConEst, or similar estimating software Previous experience as an electrician, foreman, superintendent, service manager, project manager, or estimator Journeyman or Master Electrician background Experience working for an electrical contractor or service-based electrical company
