Type:

full-time Divergent Alliance is seeking a Substation Estimator & Project Manager based in our Algonquin, Illinois office. This role estimates and manages substation construction projects for utility and large customer applications, including foundations, structures, equipment setting, grounding and interconnection.

Pay Range:

$95,000 - $135,000 We offer a comprehensive benefits package including paid time off, paid company holidays, health insurance, and a 401(k) retirement savings plan

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare detailed substation estimates including civil, structural, electrical and grounding scope
  • Develop takeoffs, labor units, equipment pricing and subcontractor scopes
  • Review one-line diagrams, drawings and specifications and prepare clarifications
  • Manage the bid process from prequalification through proposal and award
  • Manage awarded projects including schedule, budget, procurement and subcontractors
  • Administer submittals, RFIs, change orders and project documentation
  • Coordinate long-lead equipment including transformers, breakers, switchgear and relay panels
  • Prepare schedules of values, progress billing and cost-to-complete reporting
  • Coordinate with field supervision on constructability, sequencing and resource planning
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for utility and owner representatives
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Seven or more years estimating or managing substation construction projects
  • Strong understanding of substation civil, structural, electrical and grounding scope
  • Familiarity with relay, control and protection systems a plus
  • Experience with utility master service agreements and unit price contracts preferred
  • Proficiency with estimating software and construction management platforms
  • Union contractor experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering or related field preferred Send resume to hr@divergentalliance.
