Full Job Description Landscape Foreman & Estimator BlueOak Outdoor - Tonganoxie, KS Full-Time | $25-$30 per hour, based on experience BlueOak Outdoor is seeking an experienced Landscape Foreman & Estimator to lead landscape installations while helping us estimate and sell new projects throughout the greater Kansas City area. This is a hands-on leadership position. The right candidate can manage a crew in the field, communicate professionally with customers, accurately estimate labor and materials, and ensure every project is completed safely, efficiently, and to BlueOak's quality standards. Responsibilities Lead and work alongside landscape crews on residential and commercial projects Meet with customers to evaluate properties and discuss their goals Measure job sites and prepare accurate labor, material, equipment, and disposal estimates Create clear scopes of work for customer proposals Build material lists and coordinate deliveries, equipment, and subcontractors Read landscape plans, drawings, and installation specifications Assign daily crew responsibilities and communicate production expectations Track labor hours, materials, job progress, and changes to the original scope Identify additional work and communicate change orders before proceeding Inspect completed projects for quality and customer satisfaction Train crew members on proper installation methods and equipment use Maintain clean, safe, and professional job sites Communicate project updates and challenges to management Assist with scheduling, job costing, and improving production efficiency Types of Projects Landscape design and installation Plant, shrub, and tree installation Mulch, rock, edging, and landscape-bed installation Grading, drainage, sod, and seeding Retaining walls, patios, and other hardscape projects Property cleanups and landscape renovations Commercial landscape improvements Seasonal projects and snow operations, as needed Qualifications At least three years of professional landscaping or hardscaping experience Previous crew-lead or foreman experience Experience estimating landscape projects and preparing material takeoffs Strong understanding of labor hours, production rates, and material quantities Ability to operate skid steers, mini skid steers, compactors, trailers, and common landscape equipment Strong customer-service and communication skills Ability to lead employees respectfully and hold the crew accountable Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record Ability to lift at least 75 pounds and work outdoors in changing weather Ability to use a smartphone, email, measuring tools, and estimating software Bilingual English and Spanish is helpful but not required What We're Looking For We want someone who takes ownership of each project from the initial site visit through final completion. You should be confident talking with customers, making field decisions, solving problems, and helping a crew stay productive. This position is ideal for an experienced landscape professional who wants more responsibility and the opportunity to help build and grow BlueOak Outdoor's landscape division.
