Job Description

Company Information CSWI's Engineered Building Solutions segment manufactures custom architectural building components and innovative firestopping and smoke-rated products that help protect people. Safety and code compliance are top of mind for architects, engineers, and contractors. Our purposeful brands combine functionality with aesthetically pleasing designs for the construction, refurbishment, and modernization of buildings. Our brands include Balco, Greco Architectural Metal Products, and Smoke Guard. Position Summary The Estimator serves as the primary point of contact for customers regarding bid activity in our direct markets. The role is responsible for evaluating project scope and preparing detailed estimates and pricing for each phase, from inception to final working budget approval. Responsibilities
  • Prepare takeoffs and material estimates as required per the bidding contract documentations.
  • Make special pricing for custom systems as needed.
  • Create project specific notes to identify the needs of a project.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction (AHJs) during the bidding stages of the project.
  • Foster and grow relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Attend meetings with customers, reps, peers, and management as required.
  • Regular and routine attendance is required.

  • Knowledge of construction industry practices and sales processes,
  • General ability to read, interpret, and understand building plans.
  • Ability to negotiate and work in the best interest of the company.
  • Strong organizational, time-management and prioritization skills.
  • Able to communicate effectively and professionally with team members and customers verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)
  • Able to complete work accurately and on time.
  • Able to work collaboratively with direct team members, or across departments, and work independently as needed. Education
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Associate or bachelor's degree in construction management, business administration or similar field preferred. Experience
  • 1+ year experience in construction required.
  • Experience in an Estimating role preferred.
  • Experience in a role where creation of bids and proposals were a main job responsibility preferred.
  • Familiarity with contractual requirements and best practices in the construction industry preferred.
  • Experience using E-Takeoff, Bluebeam, Salesforce, Procore, Planswift or similar systems preferred. Work Environment
Physical Conditions:
This position works in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment, and is seated for long periods of time.

    This position is based in our Wichita, KS office. Employees in the Wichita area are required to work on-site.
