This role combines precise cost estimation with effective project management, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to managing all phases of construction estimating and project coordination. Header Duties Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects using estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam, including material, labor, equipment, and subcontractor costs. Review construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications to interpret project scope and identify potential challenges or cost-saving opportunities. Develop detailed project budgets by analyzing blueprints, material requirements, and labor estimates; monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgets. Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Manage project timelines by coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure seamless communication and timely project delivery. Utilize construction management software and spreadsheets to track project progress, update estimates, and generate reports for stakeholders. Conduct site visits to assess construction progress, review safety compliance, and verify that work aligns with technical drawings and specifications. Review contracts and scope of work documents; manage change orders effectively to control costs and minimize delays. Lead client communication by providing regular updates on project status, cost estimates, and potential risks or opportunities for value engineering. Header Experience Proven experience in managing construction projects as an estimator or project manager within the commercial construction industry. Strong proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid or similar tools; experience with Bluebeam for digital blueprint review is highly desirable. Extensive knowledge of construction management software platforms and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) for documentation and reporting purposes. Demonstrated ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications accurately. Solid understanding of cost management principles including material cost estimating, cost control strategies, and budgeting techniques. Hands-on experience with construction site activities combined with a comprehensive understanding of safety protocols and quality standards. Excellent negotiation skills paired with effective client communication capabilities; ability to foster strong relationships with vendors and stakeholders. Construction industry experience focusing on estimating for commercial projects is essential; familiarity with contracts and project management methodologies is preferred.
