Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Estimator/Project Manager to join our team and drive the success of commercial construction projects from inception to completion. In this role, you will combine your expertise in construction estimating with project management skills to ensure accurate cost projections, effective client communication, and seamless project execution. Duties Prepare detailed and accurate construction estimates by reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications using estimating software such as HeavyBid or Bluebeam. Develop comprehensive project budgets, including material costs, labor estimates, equipment needs, and subcontractor quotes. Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and subcontractors through negotiation to secure competitive pricing and favorable terms. Manage project timelines, scope, and budgets to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within financial targets. Review construction drawings thoroughly to interpret technical details and identify potential cost-saving opportunities or design issues early in the process. Utilize construction management software to track project progress, update estimates, and control costs throughout the project lifecycle. Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to estimate material requirements accurately from blueprints and ensure timely procurement. Monitor cost control measures during construction to prevent budget overruns while maintaining quality standards. Lead client communication by providing transparent updates on project status, costs, and potential risks or changes. Oversee site activities when necessary, leveraging your construction site experience to ensure safety compliance and efficient workflow. Skills Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and Xactimate for accurate cost analysis. Strong negotiation skills to secure competitive pricing with subcontractors and suppliers. Extensive experience managing construction projects as an estimator or project manager within the commercial construction industry. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, technical drawings, and construction documents confidently. Skilled in using Microsoft Office tools including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis and reporting. Knowledge of construction management software for scheduling, budgeting, and document control purposes. Expertise in estimating material requirements from blueprints and reviewing construction drawings for accuracy. Solid understanding of cost management principles such as cost control, material cost estimating, and budgeting strategies. Construction industry experience with a focus on commercial projects; familiarity with heavy civil or industrial sectors is a plus. Effective client communication skills to present estimates clearly and negotiate terms professionally.
