Maryville, Inc. provides comprehensive high qualify substance abuse and co-occurring treatment and recovery services to individuals and families affected by the disease of addiction. Our staff helps to make a difference in the lives of people every day. Registered Nurses (RNs) are responsible for providing the initial nursing assessment on all new admissions and complete follow-ups with patients during treatment. RNs are responsible for arranging and coordinating all medical appointments for patients. These individuals are also responsible for arranging necessary visits with Health Care Providers to complete the initial physical evaluation and other health screenings as required. They provide administration of medications and record this activity in the patient's medical chart. These individuals ensure there are adequate medical emergency supplies, as well as securing necessary medical records on all patients. Essential Functions Performs initial nursing assessment for incoming patients. Arranges appropriate appointments with Health Care Providers to complete physical examinations, including required additional health screenings and supplemental tests. Administers medications and maintain accurate medication supply records. Maintains adequate inventory of medical supplies in compliance with governing regulations and agency policy. Participates in treatment/multidisciplinary team meetings, as directed. Implements and assures adherence to Infection Control policies and practices. Provides education for clients regarding health, nutrition, safety, and medication compliance. Manages Electronic Medical Records (EMR). Write and maintain updated multidisciplinary treatment plans for patients based on patient needs. Other related duties as assigned by the Medical Director, Director of Nursing or Chief Executive Officer. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing is required. Current RN license in good standing in New Jersey is required. Current First Aid/CPR Certification issued by the American Red Cross or the American Red Cross Association required. May be recent graduate of approved nursing school or a minimum of one (1) year of nursing experience. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of health care issues pertaining to substance use disorders, including but not limited to mental health needs, women's health issues, HIV/AIDs, and other communicable diseases. Knowledge of accurate record keeping in accordance with regulatory agencies and standards. Knowledge of nutritional requirements and practices. Knowledge of therapeutic communication techniques. Ability to work with clients to gain confidence and cooperation while maintaining boundaries. Ability to plan and organize work with prioritization and time management skills. Ability to prepare accurate records and reports. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, staff, health care providers, outside agencies, institutions and the general public.
