We are seeking an experienced Heavy Civil Estimator to join our team in Ballston Spa, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for a construction professional who enjoys estimating complex projects and wants to work on challenging heavy civil infrastructure throughout the Northeast. You will be responsible for developing accurate and competitive estimates for projects involving water and wastewater treatment facilities, large-diameter underground utilities, pump stations, structural concrete, bridges, and DOT infrastructure . If you have a strong background in civil construction estimating, understand construction plans and specifications, and take pride in producing accurate bids, we'd like to hear from you.
What You'll Do:
Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects. Review construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and bid documents. Perform detailed quantity takeoffs and develop project scopes. Analyze labor, materials, equipment, subcontractor, and other project costs. Interpret contract requirements and identify potential project risks. Prepare competitive bids that support successful and profitable project execution. Work closely with Project Managers and Project Engineers throughout the estimating process. Assist with the transition of awarded projects from estimating into construction. Track submitted bids and analyze bid results to improve future estimates. Mentor and provide guidance to Project Engineers and less-experienced team members. Maintain organized and accurate estimating documentation. Participate in field visits and project-related meetings as needed. What We're Looking For 2+ years of estimating experience , preferably in construction. Previous experience in civil or heavy civil construction strongly preferred. Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Experience preparing detailed construction estimates and quantity takeoffs. Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, labor, and equipment costs. Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to analyze complex project information and identify cost and scope considerations. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to mentor and collaborate with Project Engineers and other team members. Ability to work effectively under deadlines. Valid driver's license required.
