Job Description

Estimator (Commercial Roofing) Central Pennsylvania $90,000 - $110,000 + Bonus & Benefits Tired of pricing whatever gets thrown at you? Here you own the bid, protect the margin, and get backed to build a real career. The Opportunity A well-established commercial roofing contractor with a strong reputation and a loyal, repeat client base is looking to add an Estimator to its pre-construction team. Their approach is simple. Take on commercial, industrial and institutional work across the full lifecycle of a roof new installation, reroof, restoration, repair, maintenance and waterproofing. Deliver it to a standard that keeps clients coming back, rather than chasing volume for the sake of it. For an estimator, this creates a genuine opportunity. You'll price a real range of systems and project types rather than the same reroof every week. You'll also sit close to ownership and operations. Your numbers set the margin, your scope decisions shape the job, and your judgement on risk and access is what keeps projects profitable. What's in it for you Estimators are often judged purely on the numbers they produce and rarely trusted to shape what the business goes after, but here you'll play a much bigger role. Alongside a competitive salary and bonus structure, you'll: Be part of a long-established business with a repeat client base and a reputation built over decades Influence bidding strategy, project selection and overall project profitability Have access to industry-leading training, development and career progression Work across a genuine range of systems and project types rather than the same reroof every week Join a team where your judgement on risk, scope and margin carries real weight Receive a full benefits package including 401k, insurance coverage and PTO The Role You'll own the estimate from first look to handover. Reviewing drawings and specs, performing detailed take-offs, and pricing labor, equipment and subcontractor scopes to a true total cost. You'll pressure-test vendor quotes, then build bid proposals, budgets and value engineering options to deadline. You'll also attend pre-bid meetings and site walks, flagging risk and scope gaps before they cost anyone money, and hand clean documentation to operations at turnover. The role gives you real exposure to GCs, owners, consultants and manufacturers, so you build relationships that support both delivery and future work. What you'll bring 3-5 years of commercial roofing or construction estimating experience (or a strong adjacent construction background) Working knowledge of commercial roofing systems and manufacturer specifications Ability to read blueprints, specs and contract documents confidently Proficiency with estimating software, digital take-off platforms and Excel Valid driver's license. OSHA 10/30 and public bid or prevailing wage exposure are a plus, not a must What's next? Apply through this advertisement with your resume and you will hear back within 48 hours.
