Job Description
Overview In search of an experienced civil construction estimator to join our team. Responsibilities Analyze construction drawings and technical specifications to prepare private and public construction project proposals. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, planswift, excell and other construction management tools to prepare detailed cost proposals. Review project plans and specifications to identify potential risks, scope changes, or cost-saving opportunities. Negotiate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to secure competitive pricing while maintaining quality standards. Manage project estimates from initial bid through final cost control, ensuring alignment with client budgets and project goals. Collaborate closely with project managers, clients, and stakeholders to communicate estimates clearly and address any scope or budget concerns. Monitor ongoing project costs using spreadsheets and construction management software to ensure adherence to budgets and identify variances early. Prepare comprehensive bid packages that include detailed breakdowns of costs, schedules, and assumptions. Stay updated on industry trends, material costs, and new estimating techniques to continually improve accuracy and efficiency. Skills Proficiency with estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools. Strong knowledge of construction specifications, interpreting technical drawings, and reviewing construction plans. Excellent negotiation skills with vendors, subcontractors, and clients to secure favorable terms. Familiarity with contracts, project management processes, and construction site operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis. Effective client communication skills to present estimates clearly and address inquiries professionally. Knowledge of construction site safety practices combined with practical construction management experience.
Pay:
$40.00 - $70.00 per hourBenefits:
