Estimator -
Commercial Construction Location:
Charlotte, NC - $100,000+ depending on experience
Bonus:
10% annual bonus
Vehicle Allowance:
$6,000
Additional Compensation:
ESOP contribution of approximately 10% of total compensation About the Opportunity A well-established commercial General Contractor is looking to add an experienced Estimator to its Charlotte, NC team due to continued growth. This is an opportunity to join an established construction company working on large, complex commercial projects across healthcare, education, aviation, government, commercial and other sectors. The position is primarily office-based in Charlotte, with the potential for up to one day per week working remotely. Estimator Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial construction projects Review construction plans, specifications and project documents Analyze project scopes and identify potential risks and opportunities Solicit, review and compare subcontractor and supplier bids Prepare competitive and accurate bid proposals Develop detailed quantity takeoffs and pricing Work with subcontractors and suppliers throughout the estimating process Coordinate with project managers, superintendents and other project team members Assist with value engineering and cost planning Participate in preconstruction meetings and client discussions Help identify scope gaps, pricing issues and potential project risks Maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders Project Types The company works across a broad range of commercial construction sectors, including: Healthcare K-12 Education Higher Education Aviation Government and Civic Commercial / Workplace Parking Structures Manufacturing Science & Technology Multifamily Senior Living Sports The Charlotte office has a particularly strong presence in healthcare, education, aviation and public-sector construction , including complex projects completed in occupied and active environments. Requirements 5+ years of commercial construction estimating experience Experience working for a General Contractor Strong knowledge of construction plans, specifications and scopes Experience with subcontractor solicitation and bid analysis Strong understanding of construction costs and pricing Ability to identify scope gaps, risks and opportunities Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to work effectively with project teams, clients, subcontractors and suppliers Compensation & Benefits $100,000+ base salary , depending on experience 10% annual bonus $6,000 vehicle allowance ESOP contribution worth approximately 10% of total compensation Comprehensive benefits package Long-term career growth with an established General Contractor Work Schedule This is a predominantly office-based position in Charlotte, NC . The company can offer up to 1 day per week of hybrid working , although the preference is for the successful candidate to work from the Charlotte office the majority of the week.
