In this role, you will be responsible for accurately estimating costs related to glazing, curtain walls, cladding, Stucco finishes, Hardie , Stone and other facade systems for commercial construction projects , Your expertise will help ensure project budgets are precise, competitive, and aligned with client expectations. You will collaborate closely with project managers, clients, suppliers, and subcontractors to develop comprehensive estimates that drive successful project execution from inception to completion. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to innovative building facades while honing your estimation skills in a fast-paced environment. Duties Review and interpret construction drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications related to glazing and facade systems to determine material requirements and scope of work. Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, and other construction management tools to prepare detailed cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, and subcontractor services. Develop accurate pricing strategies by researching current market rates for materials like glass, aluminum framing, sealants, insulation, and other facade components. Manage the entire estimation process including quantity takeoffs from blueprints, creating detailed spreadsheets, and preparing bid proposals that reflect project scope and budget constraints. Collaborate with clients and suppliers through negotiation to secure favorable pricing while maintaining quality standards. Assist in managing project budgets by monitoring costs throughout the bidding process and providing recommendations for cost control measures. Review construction drawings thoroughly to identify potential challenges or discrepancies that could impact costs or scheduling. Support project management teams by providing reliable estimates that facilitate smooth project planning and execution. Experience Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on glazing or facade systems for commercial projects. Strong knowledge of blueprints reading, technical drawings interpretation, and estimating construction material requirements from blueprints. Proficiency in estimating software such as HeavyBid, Bluebeam, Xactimate or similar tools; experience with construction management software is a plus. Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite including Excel spreadsheets for detailed cost analysis and reporting. Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing. Hands-on construction site experience or background in managing projects as a construction estimator is highly desirable. Excellent understanding of construction industry standards related to cost management, material estimating, and project budgeting. Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration across multiple stakeholders.
