Job Description

Since its inception, Ryzec has quickly become known for its integrity, capability, thoroughness, & skill. Ryzec Building Group has the experience to do the job well & the dedication to ensure the job is done right. We are currently looking for an Estimator to join our team.
Primary Purpose of Role:
The Estimator will be a detail-oriented, dynamic individual that will bridge the gap between field operations and project planning. This role requires a strong understanding of construction processes, field operations, and project management practices. This position is primarily responsible for managing the initial phases of construction projects, focusing on cost estimation, budgeting, and proposal development.
Essential Responsibilities:
Analyze project specifications, drawings, and requirements to determine materials, labor, and equipment costs. Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids, ensuring thorough scope coverage and competitiveness. Prepare detailed bid proposals, including schedules, budgets, and scope breakdowns. Participate in bid presentations and negotiations with clients and stakeholders. Coordinate with designers, engineers, and consultants to address design or construction issues. Act as a liaison between the field team and office team to resolve issues and maintain project momentum. Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
Knowledge & Skill:
Degree in construction or equivalent experience with a solid understanding of the industry, preferred, but not required. 7 plus years of experience will replace the degree requirement. Minimum of 3 years of experience in Estimating in the construction industry, with a proven track record of successfully bidding on and winning public projects. Ability to work under pressure & coordinate numerous activities & groups of people simultaneously. Quick thinking, motivated individual willing to learn our business & our clients. Dependable & able to work a flexible schedule as workflow dictates. Must be able to value engineer a set of construction documents Skilled in estimating software (e.g., ConstructConnect, Bluebeam, or similar). Experienced in construction specific software (i.e. Redteam, Microsoft Project, Excel, Smartsheets, etc.) to effectively organize & manage the project process Ability to read building plans & understand big picture construction processes to drive projects/programs to a successful completion while working with a varied team of clients, field managers, project design team, superintendents, subcontractors, & vendors Ability to adapt to changing demands & priorities Strong analytical skills in evaluating situations Excellent oral & written communication skills. Ability to travel up to 25% to attend meetings and bid openings.

General construction Travel- 25% Weekend work Ability to lift 50 lbs
