The Construction Project Estimator at

DEALERS WAREHOUSE

is responsible for providing accurate and detailed cost estimates for construction projects. This role involves analyzing project plans, specifications, and other documentation to ensure that all aspects of the project are considered in the estimation process. The Estimator will collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to deliver comprehensive estimates that support successful project execution.

Key Responsibilities:

Review and analyze project plans, specifications, and other related documents to understand the scope and requirements of construction projects. Prepare detailed and accurate cost estimates for various construction projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and other associated costs. Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to discuss and clarify project requirements and expectations. Conduct site visits and assessments to gather necessary information for accurate estimation. Identify potential risks and opportunities within project estimates and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions. Maintain and update a database of historical cost data for reference in future projects. Assist in the preparation of project budgets and schedules based on the estimates provided. Participate in bid preparation and presentation to clients, ensuring all estimates are aligned with project goals and client expectations. Monitor project costs and provide regular updates to project management to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Stay updated on industry trends, construction techniques, and material costs to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.

Required Experience:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project estimating within the commercial or residential construction industry. Proven track record of successfully estimating projects and managing budgets. Experience working with construction management software and tools. Familiarity with local building codes, regulations, and standards.

Required Skills and Abilities:

Strong analytical and mathematical skills for accurate cost estimation. Excellent communication and negotiation skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and team members. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and construction estimating software such as PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or similar. Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering plans and specifications. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines. Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in estimating processes. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and independently when required.
