Full-Time (on-site) About the Position We are looking for an experienced Designer / Drafter to join a growing steel fabrication operation. This position will support projects from estimating and planning through drafting, fabrication, and installation. The ideal candidate will have experience with structural steel, steel fabrication, construction, or bridge infrastructure and be comfortable working with drawings, plans, specifications, and project documentation. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys a hands-on, varied role and likes working closely with engineers, customers, detailers, suppliers, and the fabrication team. What You'll Do Drafting & Design Coordinate and review shop and fabrication drawings Work with engineers, detailers, customers, and internal teams to ensure drawings are accurate Review drawings for constructability and compliance with project specifications Coordinate drawing revisions and approval processes Maintain organized project drawings and documentation Help ensure projects move smoothly from design through fabrication and installation Estimating & Project Support (These duties will be trained after drafting and learning the product and processes occur) Review plans, specifications, and bid documents Perform material takeoffs and quantity calculations Prepare estimates for fabrication and installation projects Obtain and compare pricing from suppliers and subcontractors Assist with proposals, bids, and project pricing Maintain historical pricing and estimating information What We're Looking For Experience with steel fabrication, structural steel, construction, bridge infrastructure, or a related industry Experience reading and interpreting engineering, fabrication, and construction drawings Ability to perform material takeoffs and basic estimating Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to communicate effectively with customers, vendors, engineers, and internal teams Strong problem-solving and follow-through skills Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities CAD/drafting experience preferred (AutoCAD) Strong computer skills - MS Excel and Word Why Consider This Opportunity? Pay:
$55,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
