Duties Operate floor buffing machines to restore the luster of vinyl, tile, hardwood, and other flooring types. Perform regular cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, and detailed carpet cleaning to prepare floors for buffing. Apply appropriate cleaning solutions and floor finishes to enhance durability and appearance. Conduct routine inspections of floors to identify areas needing special attention or repair. Follow safety procedures and use personal protective equipment during all cleaning activities. Maintain equipment by cleaning, lubricating, and reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed. Collaborate with janitorial staff to ensure all areas meet cleanliness standards and are safe for occupants. Skills Proven experience in commercial cleaning or custodial services with a focus on floor care. Strong knowledge of floor buffing techniques and equipment operation. Ability to perform carpet cleaning using specialized tools and solutions. Excellent attention to detail to ensure thorough cleaning and polishing results. Good physical stamina for standing, bending, lifting, and operating machinery for extended periods. Familiarity with environmental services standards and safety protocols.
