Job Description

Job Overview:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Make Ready/Flooring Technician to join our team. As a Make Ready/Flooring Technician, you will turn recently vacated apartments into units ready for occupancy. The position requires attention to detail and the ability to follow written directions for each home assigned. Reliability, having your own transportation, and being on time are a must.
Duties:
Unit Make-Ready Preparation Inspect vacant units and complete make-ready checklists in a timely manner Perform general repairs including minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and drywall work Patch, texture, and paint walls as needed Replace fixtures, hardware, and appliances as required Ensure units are clean, presentable, and move-in ready by scheduled deadlines Flooring Installation & Repair Remove and dispose of existing flooring materials (carpet, vinyl, tile, etc.) Install new flooring including carpet, vinyl plank, laminate, or tile Measure and cut flooring materials to fit specific unit layouts Repair or patch subflooring when necessary Ensure all flooring installations meet quality and safety standards Preventative Maintenance & Quality Control Conduct final inspections to ensure units meet company and property standards Identify and report any major maintenance concerns Assist with preventative maintenance tasks as needed Inventory & Equipment Management Maintain adequate inventory of flooring materials, tools, and supplies Operate and maintain tools and equipment safely and efficiently Report damaged or missing tools to management Safety & Compliance Follow all safety guidelines and OSHA standards Properly handle and dispose of hazardous materials Maintain a clean and organized work environment Team Collaboration Work closely with maintenance staff, property managers, and vendors Assist with other maintenance tasks or property projects as needed Respond to urgent make-ready needs to meet occupancy goals
Qualifications:
Previous experience in apartment maintenance or flooring installation preferred Knowledge of basic plumbing, electrical, and carpentry Experience installing carpet, vinyl plank, laminate, or tile Ability to use hand and power tools safely Strong attention to detail and time management skills Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in various physical conditions
