Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Step into a meaningful contract opportunity supporting students as an ASL Paraprofessional in the San Antonio, TX area. This on-site role offers the chance to make a direct impact within a local school, working closely with children who are Deaf or hard of hearing. You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team, bringing vital communication skills that help ensure every student thrives in the classroom.
Qualifications:
Must have at least one of the following: Associate's degree or higher A minimum of 48 college semester hours recognized by the TX Education Agency or regional agency plus successful completion (minimum 70%) of the paraeducator course via Stedi.org Experience working with pediatric or school-aged populations with hearing loss Bachelor's degree preferred Ability to commute between two sites (within 13 minutes of each other) Currently required to complete fingerprinting and background check
Responsibilities:
Provide one-on-one and/or group support to students utilizing ASL as a primary mode of communication Assist classroom teachers by facilitating communication and fostering an inclusive learning environment Adapt learning materials to ensure accessibility for students with hearing loss Collaborate closely with special education and general education staff Support the individual needs of students as determined by educational teams and caseload assignments
Schedule Details:
